In 2022, the textile installation path mark 07/22 succeeded in disturbing the familiar landscape view on the way to the SPIEGEL|ARCHE. The neon flags broke with the natural colour palette of the Thuringian Basin as a manifestation of the Anthropocene and drew attention to the even larger, human-made body in the landscape - the SPIEGEL|ARCHE. However, nature of the Thuringian Basin did not accept this intervention without intervening itself. The hottest summer on record in Europe stripped the flags of their colours and made them surrender.
SPIEGEL|ARCHE:
At a place of silence in Rastenberg-Roldisleben stands the SPIEGEL|ARCHE. Two mirrored containers stacked on top of each other in the middle of a field. This walk-in architectural space is open to the public for five years for art exhibitions and installations, interactive social projects, lectures, readings, workshops, and concerts. The themes focus on the region, homeland, ecology, nature, digitization, and the future. The goal is to collectively experience a place that stands for openness, tolerance, and curiosity.
